3 Things to Start Your Week

  • Grab your breakfast and get up to speed with these three items to start your week.

    1. Track and Bridge Work Alert
Starting March 17, two infrastructure projects may affect your commute. SEPTA’s 2025 Trolley Track Renewal Project begins on 42nd Street between Spruce Street and Woodland Avenue. Watch for parking restrictions and visit septa.org for information about Route 30 bus detours. Meanwhile, a major Market Street bridge rehabilitation project will require car, bike, and pedestrian detours. Visit PennDOTs project website for details.
    2. On-Campus Be in the Know Biometric Screenings
Penn’s 2024-2025 Be in the Know wellness campaign is offering free, on-campus biometric screenings on March 18 and 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Houston, Hall, Bodek Lounge. The screenings are open to benefits-eligible faculty, staff, and postdocs. Advanced registration is required through the Health Advocate portal. For more information, visit the Be in the Know website.
    3. Supporting Resilience and Optimism
Join Dr. Karen Reivich of the Penn’s Positive Psychology Center for Resilience and Well-being: Resilience and Optimism workshop on March 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Reivich will discuss the building blocks of resilience with a focus on developing the mindset of optimism, including the six core strategies of optimism that further our ability to navigate challenges and grow in various situations.
