Penn Retiree Benefits

Retiree Benefits

As you approach retirement—or settle into it—there’s a lot to keep in mind, from medical benefits to retirement plan distributions. If you’re considering retiring from Penn, this site offers an overview of key policies and benefits to help guide your planning.

Ready to Retire? What to Do First

Within 3–12 months of your expected retirement date, please request an appointment with a Penn Benefits Specialist. During this meeting, we will review the transition from Penn’s active-employee medical benefits to Penn’s retiree medical benefits.

These counseling sessions are intended for people who are within 3-12 months of retirement. If you do not have an expected retirement date within that timeframe and have exploratory, preliminary, or long-term retirement planning questions, please contact the Penn Benefits Solution Center at HRBenefits@hr.upenn.edu or 866-799-2329.

You can also review Penn’s Retirement Planning Guide, linked below, for an overview of Penn’s retiree healthcare benefits.

    Retiree Benefits Guides

The Retirement Planning Guide is for employees moving from active to retiree benefits.
The Annual Selection Guide is for retirees enrolled in Penn’s retiree benefits.
