Using Temporary Agencies

When a department requires temporary staffing and the employment of students is impractical or inappropriate, hiring officers may request help from an agency outside of the University. Human Resources/Recruitment and Staffing can be contacted for the name of the University’s preferred temporary agency and their rates. Temporary service personnel are not employees of the University and are not eligible for compensation or benefits through the University.


If a department decides to offer regular employment in a University position to an employee from a temporary staffing agency, the department should first consult with the Human Resources/Recruitment and Staffing.
