Long-Term Disability

The University of Pennsylvania provides a long-term disability plan for employees who are unable to work due to a qualifying disability. Penn’s LTD plan pays up to 60% of salary, inclusive of Social Security, not to exceed $7,500 per month. The University continues coverage for dental, basic life insurance, retirement, and tuition programs. The employee and the University share in the cost of medical and dental coverage.

Long-Term Disability policies are described in the University's Summary Plan Descriptions. These summaries provide general information regarding the benefit plans. Plan documents govern the provisions of the benefit plans. Specific information about each plan is available in the plan booklets for each plan provider.
