Penn Medicine and CHOP Receive $50 million Gift to Support Autism Research and Treatment

Thanks to a $50 million gift from Philadelphia Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie, and his family, Penn Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) will create a joint venture called the Lurie Autism Institute. The initiative, which is the largest single donation to U.S. academic medical centers focused on autism research across the lifespan, will advance research to help individuals with the autism spectrum disorder.
