Turn Your Tax Cut into a Retirement Gain

It’s not often the government reduces taxes, but we’re getting a break this year in the form of lower Social Security taxes. In 2011, the employee portion of the Social Security tax is being cut from 6.2% to 4.2%. That’s a 2% increase in your take-home pay for a full year!

This gives you a great opportunity to jump-start your retirement savings. Since this money would have been going toward a retirement program anyway, why not put it towards the same goal by increasing your retirement contributions? If you save on a pre-tax basis, you could contribute the entire 2% and still see an increase in your take-home pay.

Every little bit you save adds up. If you invest the extra money now, you can boost your retirement savings without worrying about how it’ll affect your paycheck. Since you weren’t used to having the extra money before, you won’t even notice a difference now.

Charge Ahead in Your Job

Feedback is a great way to gauge your strengths and weaknesses. But it focuses on the past, not the future. How do you take the next step and use that feedback to change your future? FeedForward can take you there.

This new training program helps you envision a positive future and discover how to get there. You’ll focus on solutions, not problems. Instead of rehashing past mistakes, choose a behavior you’d like to improve and learn how to do it. You’ll learn tips for improving your job performance that are sure to move your career forward and have a positive impact on your colleagues as well.
