Take Our Children to Work Day Returns to Campus on April 25!

Take Our Children to Work Day is an annual event that encourages and inspires youth while introducing them to future workplace opportunities. Children will learn about Penn as a top employer and institution of higher education, while having fun. This event is geared towards children ages 9-15, and offers an exciting variety of age-appropriate learning activities, though children of any age are welcome to attend. Numerous schools and centers welcome children to visit and engage, and there are a range of programs to suit varied interests and goals.

Please note that supervisory approval is required for all staff, faculty, and postdoc participants, who need to accompany their young guests to all activities.

Advanced registration for events is required and now open as of Monday, April 1 at 9 am.

This interactive session explores the use of task trainers and manikins as a teaching method in preparing nursing students to care for real patients.  Participants will give injections, clean and pack "wounds," don PPE, visit a patient, listen to heart and lung sounds, feel for pulses, and team up to "treat " the manikin for various illnesses.  Most suitable for ages 6-16, but all ages are welcome.

WXPN, the public radio station at the University of Pennsylvania, is happy to once again offer their popular tour of a professional radio control room for a sound display and voice playback with WXPN News Director Bob Bumbera!  Afterwards, host/producer Robert Drake will give them a brief tour of the WXPN recording studio ending with a visit to the FM studio where they will chat with WXPN Midday host Mike Vasilikos while he’s live on air!  

The session will last about 60 minutes in its entirety – starting at 10:00 am and ending by 11:00 am.  Doors to the WXPN Main Lobby will open at 9:45 am to gather before heading down to the WXPN studios at 10:00 am. Suitable for ages 6 and up.
