3 Steps to Success

Step 1: Biometric Screenings

Free on-campus biometric screenings provide you with key indicators of your health status, such as blood pressure, cholesterol levels and blood sugar. Participants receive immediate feedback on their results.

Biometric screenings will be offered on campus throughout the campaign year. Since our Fall 2018 screenings have ended, we will be offering a select number of screenings in 2019. Our next on campus screenings will take place January 24, February 19, and March 18 - sign up today!

If you can't attend an on-campus screening, you have the option to submit results obtained by your own physician between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019. To earn credit, download and complete the Be in the Know Biometric Screening Consent Form, follow the submission directions on the form, and submit the form with your results to AREUFIT Health Services, Inc.  

For the 2018-2019 Be in the Know campaign year, the deadline to submit your biometric screening documentation is July 31, 2019.


Step 2: Online Health Assessment

The online health assessment is administered through our wellness portal partner, StayWell Health Management. Take the Online Health Assessment after you’ve completed a biometric screening. Complete this second Core Action to earn your first $100 incentive, plus be on your way to earning up to $300 this campaign year.

The updated StayWell portal for the 2018-2019 Be in the Know campaign year will be available October 8, 2018. To complete the online health assessment on or after October 8, visit

For the 2018-2019 Be in the Know campaign year, the deadline to complete the online health assessment is August 31, 2019.

Step 3: Bonus Actions - More options and higher point values this year!

People running on treadmillBonus Actions are health-related action steps to earn additional points and incentives through Be in the Know. There are a variety of activities on campus, at home, and online through StayWell, with four categories of options available. Choose any action steps to earn up to an additional $200* in Bonus Action incentives, plus a special gift opportunity for VIP-level participants. From dental checkups to physicals to financial wellness events, you have many ways to stay active, enhance your well-being, and earn extra rewards!

Bonus Actions may be completed and points earned at any time during the campaign year (September 1, 2018 - August 31, 2019). However, cash incentives for Bonus Actions will not be awarded until you complete the first two Core Actions. Everything you need to know about Bonus Actions is on the Bonus Actions page.

*All Be in the Know cash incentives are less applicable payroll taxes.

All returning Be in the Know participants will be entered in a prize drawing for an iPad.

Incentives will be issued in November 2018, and monthly from January – September 2019, in paychecks or as Penn Recreation credits. Incentives for Bonus Actions won't be paid, until you first complete the two Core Actions (biometric screening and StayWell's online health assessment.) Payment times depend on when you complete the Core Actions and qualifying Bonus Actions. Bonus Actions incentives are paid when you reach every 50 point level (50 points, 100 points, 150 points, and 200 points.) However, any remaining unpaid Bonus Action points will be paid in the final incentive cycle, September 2019.
