Be in the Know 2019-2020

This year, Be in the Know offers you new ways to learn about your health and reach your personal goals. In the process, you can earn up to $300!*

Be in the Know continues to grow with new Bonus Actions. This year’s options include the updated “Refer-a-Friend” Bonus and a new 30 Day Wellness Challenge. Penn has also added bone density screenings to the list of Preventative Health Options for Bonus Action points. 

Unlike the 2018-2019 campaign, the current Be in the Know campaign year ends June 30, 2020.

3 Steps to Success

Step 1: Biometric Screenings

Free on-campus biometric screenings provide you with key indicators of your health status, such as blood pressure, total and HDL cholesterol levels and blood sugar level. Participants receive immediate feedback on their results. 

Due to the evolving situation around the COVID-19 virus, there will be no additional on-campus screenings through the end of the campaign year (June 30, 2020). You may submit results from your healthcare provider, using a Biometric Screening Consent Form. To earn credit, download and complete the form, follow the submission directions on the form, and submit the form with your results to AREUFIT Health Services, Inc.

Results must be received between July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020, and submitted by July 31, 2020. Be sure to include blood pressure, blood glucose, total cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol results. (Optional results include LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.) This screening, plus StayWell’s online health assessment, are the necessary two steps to earn the first $100 incentive.

Step 2: Online Health Assessment

The online health assessment is administered through our wellness portal partner, StayWell Health Management. Take the Online Health Assessment after you’ve completed a biometric screening. Complete this second Core Action to earn your first $100 incentive, plus be on your way to earning up to $300 this campaign year.

The deadline to complete the online health assessment is June 30, 2020.


Step 3: Bonus Actions - New options and high point values this year!

People running on treadmillBonus Actions are health-related action steps to earn additional points and incentives through Be in the Know. There are a variety of activities on campus, at home, and online through StayWell, with four categories of options available. Choose any action steps to earn up to an additional $200* in Bonus Action incentives, plus a special gift opportunity for VIP-level participants. From dental checkups to physicals to financial wellness events, you have many ways to stay active, enhance your well-being, and earn extra rewards!

Bonus Actions may be completed and points earned at any time during the campaign year (September 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020). However, cash incentives for Bonus Actions will not be awarded until you complete the first two Core Actions. Everything you need to know about Bonus Actions is on the Bonus Actions page.

 

*All cash incentives are less applicable payroll taxes. Incentives will be issued in November 2019, and monthly from January to August 2020, in paychecks or as Penn Recreation credits. Payment times depend on when you complete the Core Actions and qualifying Bonus Actions.

Incentives for Bonus Actions won't be paid until you first complete the two Core Actions (biometric screening and StayWell's online health assessment.) Payment times depend on when you complete the Core Actions and qualifying Bonus Actions. Bonus Actions incentives are paid when you reach every 50 point level (50 points, 100 points, 150 points, and 200 points.) However, any remaining unpaid Bonus Action points will be paid in the final incentive cycle, August 2020.

Your privacy is strictly protected. Penn receives only aggregated data for the participating population. Penn will never know your individual screening results, health assessment answers or personal health goals.
