National Retirement Security Week

National Retirement Security Week 2019 is October 20-26. This week was created in response to a resolution by Senators Gordon Smith (R-OR) and Kent Conrad (D-ND) to raise awareness about retirement savings. In support of National Retirement Security Week, Human Resources will host the following information sessions by TIAA and Vanguard, Penn’s retirement plan providers:

October 22, TIAA at ARCH 108
 

11am-12pm – Money at Work 1: Foundations of Investing. Learn about risk versus reward, accelerating savings, and helpful tools and resources. 

1:beam-2:beam – Money at Work 2: Sharpening Investment Skills. Building off of Money at Work 1, you’ll learn about evaluating savings progress, your investment personality, and investment strategies in more detail.

October 24, Vanguard at Irvine Auditorium

11am-12pm – Getting on Track. Strategies for saving more, deciding how long to work, when to start taking Social Security, adjusting your investment mix, and paying off debt.

1:beam-2:beam – A Tour of Vanguard’s Online Tools and Resources. Take a tour of Vanguard’s online calculators, planning resources, and educational articles and videos.

In addition to learning how to optimize your retirement savings, you can also earn 10 Be in the Know Bonus Action Points for each session you attend, for a maximum of 40 Bonus Action points per campaign year.
