Dental and Vision

Dental Coverage

Choose from two dental options: Penn Dental or MetLife. Penn pays most of the cost for dental coverage. Your share, paid through pre-tax payroll deductions, depends on the plan you choose and whether you are covering dependents. For details, review the dental plan options and current rates.

To choose a dentist, check the provider directory for the Penn Dental plan or the provider directory for the MetLife plan. MetLife members aren’t restricted to using a dentist from the list, but it’s an excellent place to start looking for one. Penn Dental members can receive treatment from any dentist in the Penn Dental Family Practice offices.

Vision Coverage

Choose from two vision options: Davis Vision or VSP. You pay for coverage through pre-tax payroll deductions. Your cost depends on the plan you choose and whether you are covering dependents. For details, review the vision plan options and current rates.

Payroll deductions for coverage of a same-sex domestic partner and a partner’s children are usually subject to imputed income taxes.

To choose a provider, check the provider directory for Davis Vision or the provider directory for VSP. You aren’t restricted to using a network eyecare provider for either plan, but it’s an excellent place to start looking for one.
