Retirement Plan Investment Funds

Your Investment Options

Penn's Basic, Matching, and Supplemental Retirement Annuity (SRA) Plans offer a broad menu of investment funds. The fund menu is categorized according to investment approaches to help retirement plan participants choose from a selection of investment options that best suits them. The point isn't to invest in all the funds in a category. The categories aren't intended to be invested in as a package, and you aren't limited to the funds in one category.

How to Access the Menu

  1. Go to TIAA.org/upenn.
  2. At the top of the Your Retirement Benefits webpage, click on the Investment Options heading to open the Plan Overview and Investment Overview links.
  3. Under the Plan Overview list, click on the Plan whose investments you want to view.

Need Help Understanding or Choosing?

TIAA's retirement plan consultants are on campus most weeks to explain the investment options and help you choose the investments that best fit your retirement goals? Retirement plan consultations are approximately 45 minutes long, at no additional cost to you, without obligation, and confidential. To learn more and schedule an appointment, go to TIAA.org/schedulenow or call 800-732-8353.

What If I Don't Choose an Investment?

If you don't actively choose an investment, the Plan will default your contributions to the age-appropriate Vanguard Target Date investment.

When Can I Change My Investments?

You can generally change your investments at any time (the retirement savings plan isn't subject to the open enrollment period for healthcare benefits).
