Models of Excellence: Commitment to Excellence
The Commitment to Excellence program was introduced in 2004 to offer a way
for leadership to recognize outstanding commitment to Penn goals in the face of
extraordinary external circumstances, such as the work done in preparation for
Y2K, or following 9/11, or in response to a severe Salmonella threat to the
School of Veterinary Medicine.
Nomination Process
Nominations can be submitted as events occur and must come from the Dean and Vice President level or above. All nominations should be in the form of a letter and submitted to the Vice President for Human Resources, Dr. Jack Heuer. The following must be included in the nomination: a description of why this individual/team is being nominated for this recognition; contact information for the nominator, the honorees and their direct supervision.
Contact information includes:
- name,
- title,
- department,
- school/center,
- Penn ID,
- email address,
- phone number, and
- direct supervisor of the honoree.
Notification Process
Notification of Commitment to Excellence recognition is at the discretion of
leadership. This information will be publicized broadly to the campus community.
Honorees will be acknowledged at the spring Models of Excellence Awards
Ceremony.
Awards
Commitment to Excellence awards are given at the discretion of the nominator. The leader who presents the nomination is asked to fund the awards, as we cannot anticipate these situations and fund them in advance.
Recognition
Commitment to Excellence honorees are recognized at the Model of Excellence Award Ceremony following the announcement of their honor. View pictures from previous years’ events.
