Health Promotion and Wellness Programs: Maintain, Don’t Gain

One of the toughest times of the year for maintaining and/or losing weight is the winter holiday season, from Thanksgiving through New Year‘s. While the holidays are a time to rejoice, celebrate, and enjoy time with family and friends, many of these activities revolve around food.

The “Maintain, Don‘t Gain” holiday weight maintenance program uses weight tracking, motivational messages and other incentives to help you get through this special time of year without the weight gain that can seem almost inevitable. Maintain, Don't Gain is a proven success—most participants in past years were able to maintain their starting weight within two or three pounds, while about 40% actually lost weight!

For now, the holiday season has passed. Check back in the fall for details about next year‘s program. In the meantime, Human Resources offers a variety of ongoing health and wellness programs that can help keep you in good physical, mental and emotional shape year-round.
