There are two easy ways to manage your retirement benefits at Penn: online or on the phone. Using either method, you may enroll for the first time or make changes to your elections at any time during the year. Here’s how:

1. Go online to www.hr.upenn.edu/retirement.
The convenient online enrollment system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

OR

2. Call the Retirement Call Center at 1 877 PENN-RET (1 877 736-6738).
The Retirement Call Center is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Review the Enrollment Instruction sheet before you enroll, to find out what information you will be asked to provide.

The Supplemental Retirement Annuity (SRA) is a voluntary 403(b) retirement plan which you may use to supplement your retirement savings.  The SRA is available for most employees, and you may begin contributing immediately upon your hire. Click here to view the Retirement Eligibility table.

You may set up an account with one or both of the investment carriers used by the University (TIAA-CREF and Vanguard). You make monetary contributions, which can be taken from each paycheck on either a pre-tax or Roth after-tax basis, to your account(s). It’s up to you how much you want to contribute – up to your maximum allowable contribution.

You decide where to invest your contributions, choosing from a variety of investment options offered by the investment carriers.
