What is Snow Day Child Care?
Snow Day Child Care provides all day care for children of Penn faculty and staff members when the University is open but the Philadelphia schools are closed due to inclement weather. Children from 12 weeks to 12 years of age are eligible for the program. Children attending school outside the Philadelphia district are also welcome to register for Snow Day Child Care.
The child care is provided at the Penn Children's Center, the University of Pennsylvania's licensed day care center located in the Left Bank Commons, Suite 100, at 3160 Chestnut Street. Visit the Penn Children's Center homepage for more information about the Center.
When is Snow Day Child Care Available?
The 2009-2010 Snow Day Child Care program is available:
- Between November 30, 2009 and April 2, 2010
- On weekdays from 9am to 6pm
- When the Philadelphia County Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather and the University is open. (Children attending school in other districts are also welcome to attend.)
- As space dictates. Child care space is based on the previous years' needs. Space is limited daily and care requests are met on a first-come, first-served basis.
