Awards and Recognition
2009 Vision Award for Diversity in the Workplace
Penn was chosen as the inaugural recipient of the Urban League of Philadelphia's Vision Award, which honors institutions that demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion. Penn was selected for its commitment to racial diversity and economic inclusion in the workplace, which has in turn spurred growth within the University’s surrounding communities. 100 Best Places to Work in IT
For the fifth year in a row, Penn’s Office of Information Systems and Computing (ISC) has been selected for Computerworld’s list of the 100 Best Places to Work in IT. Overall, Penn was ranked first in the Mid-Atlantic region and fourth nationally. After selecting the top 100 companies, Computerworld then listed “the best of the best” in five categories, selecting the organizations that excel in the areas of career development, training, retention, diversity, and benefits. Best Employer for Working Parents
Penn was recognized as one of the 2006 Best Employers for Working Parents at the twelfth annual “Champions for Young Children Celebration” reception in November 2006. The Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC) selected Penn for recognizing the importance of work/life benefits to the health of their businesses, their employees and their employees’ families.
