Health Risk Assessments

Free Medical Premiums Drawing Winners

This March and April, Penn faculty and staff receiving medical coverage through the University had the opportunity to earn a full year of free medical premiums from the Division of Human Resources, simply by filling out a free online health risk assessment. More than 785 members of the Penn community took an active step towards a healthier lifestyle by completing an assessment, and now the three lucky winners of this exciting prize have been announced. They are:
  • Autumn Walden, School of Social Policy and Practice
  • Shaneal Warren, Division of Finance
  • Morris Cohen, The Wharton School
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the drawing—although only three entrants could receive the prize of free medical coverage, everyone who completed an assessment has done something valuable for their future! Health risk assessments remain available for free to eligible faculty and staff. See below to learn how to fill out yours.

What's a health risk assessment?

Health risk assessments are confidential questionnaires that ask basic questions about your health habits and history. In return, you‘ll receive an easy-to-understand health report that gives you a non-clinical overview of your current health status, as well as your health risks and how to manage them. Whether you‘re trying to get in shape, control an existing condition, or just stay fit as a fiddle, you‘ll find the help you need through your health risk assessment. You can even print this report and share it with your doctor to keep him or her up to date on your complete health picture.

What should I expect from my health risk assessment?

Your health risk assessment will differ slightly according to whether you belong to an Aetna medical plan or to an Independence Blue Cross or AmeriHealth medical plan. Both assessments use information about your health habits and family history to provide you with an overview of your current health picture, as well as resources to help you manage existing conditions and health risks.

  • More information about Aetna's health risk assessment is available here.
  • More information about the Independence Blue Cross and AmeriHealth health risk assessment is available here.

How do I complete my health risk assessment?

Your Penn medical plan determines how you will access your health risk assessment:
