Long-Term Disability (LTD)

Penn provides Long-Term Disability (LTD) benefits for full-time faculty and staff members. LTD coverage applies when you’re unable to work due to a covered illness or injury greater than 6 months of duration. 

You’re eligible for LTD coverage as of your date of hire, and Penn pays the full cost for this coverage. 

If you’re unable to work due to a covered long-term disability, Penn's group LTD plan provides a benefit of 60% of your base salary to a maximum of $7,500 per month. These benefits are subject to the same state, local, and federal taxes you pay on your salary.
